Ailing Collingwood key forward Daniel McStay has suffered a fresh setback in his return to AFL action, as he was ruled out of the VFL Magpies' fixture on Sunday due to illness.
McStay, who has been battling a burdensome finger injury and subsequent infection, was expected to appear on Sunday for Collingwood's VFL side as it battles Frankston, however, the ex-Lion was announced as a late withdrawal.

It's another step back for McStay in his journey to return to AFL action.
The Magpies are eagerly awaiting the returning presence of their new key forward, whom they acquired during last year's free agency period from Brisbane.
As McStay remains sidelined, Collingwood dismantled the Gold Coast Suns on Saturday as it continues its stretch of impressive form ahead of a Round 17 battle with the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.
