The Gold Coast Suns defeated Hawthorn for the second time this season on Saturday afternoon, with a 13.17 (95) to 12.7 (79) win over the once mighty Hawks.

Gary Ablett dominated yet again against Hawthorn, finishing with 37 disposals, while key talls Steve May (13 marks), Peter Wright (10 marks) and Tom Lynch (10 marks) did plenty of damage.

The Suns jumped out of the blocks early and even led by over 40 points in the third quarter as they looked set for another big win over the Hawks, following their 86-point triumph in round three.

However, Hawthorn came storming back to get within nine points in the final term. But it was to no avail, with the Suns eventually claiming a crucial 16-point win.

But post-match, it was the umpires, who copped Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson's wrath.

The four-time premiership coach did his best to make no comment, but made his feelings very obvious.

"I'm not allowed to comment on disgraceful umpiring, so i'm better off not saying anything," Clarkson said when asked about the umpiring.

"We didn't lose the game because of the umps, but there was a few dubious decisions... we hit a few roadblocks in that regard."
