Champion Data have ranked every AFL club’s list ahead of the 2019 season.
Melbourne’s list is ranked first by the AFL’s official statisticians, booming with talent and depth in every part of the field, especially after adding former Suns co-captain Steven May.
Adelaide and Essendon round out the three top ranked sides even though neither club featured in last season’s finals.
Richmond are ranked fourth despite boasting a 33-11 regular season record over the last two seasons and bringing star forward Tom Lynch into the fold.
Both of last year’s grand finalists, West Coast and Collingwood, feature outside the top four, with the reigning premiers’ list ranked 12th best.
Champion Data believes Gold Coast have the worst list in the competition, while Fremantle sit 17th, behind the likes of the Western Bulldogs, St Kilda and Carlton.
