Collingwood have been handed the toughest fixture for the 2019 season, while St Kilda could climb the ladder after being awarded the easiest fixture.

According to Champion Data, the Magpies have been dealt a tough fixture following their Grand Final appearance.

The Magpies climbed from 13th on the table to make the Grand Final, which they lost by five points to West Coast.

The Magpies will begin their season with a clash against Geelong at the MCG on Friday March 22.

Collingwood face fellow finalist Richmond, Melbourne and West Coast twice and will face 2019 finals aspirants Essendon and the Western Bulldogs twice during the season.

Premiers West Coast have the fourth hardest fixture.

The Eagles kickoff their premiership defence with a trip to Brisbane, before unfurling their flag against GWS in round two.

West Coast will face Melbourne, Collingwood, Hawthorn, Adelaide and Fremantle twice in the 2019 campaign.

St Kilda have been dealt the easiest draw after finishing 16th in the 2018 season. Melbourne is the only top eight side the Saints face twice next season. However they won't have any Friday night fixtures due to their poor form in 2018.

Adelaide could be set for a return to the finals after being handed a lenient fixture. The Crows begin the season with matches against finalist Hawthorn, Sydney and Geelong.

The Crows don't face another top eight side until round 10 when they host the Eagles.

Minor premiers Richmond have been given the sixth easiest fixture after falling short in the Preliminary Final.

The Tigers face fellow finalist Melbourne, Collingwood and GWS twice, as well as Port Adelaide and Carlton.

In a further boost for the Tigers, they will play their final seven games at the MCG.
