Carlton have announced they will not be offering Jack Newnes, Luke Parks and Oscar McDonald new contracts.

Newnes managed 52 games for the Blues and 207 games in total. His time at Carlton highlighted by his after the siren goal against Fremantle in 2020 at Optus Stadium.

He arrived at Carlton in the 2020 season as a delisted free agent after eight years at St Kilda.

McDonald's time at Carlton was haunted by back injuries. He started both 2021 and 2022 in the team but was injured in Rounds 1 and 2 respectively in each season. He would miss the remainder of both seasons.

Parks was selected in the 2020 NAB AFL Rookie Draft and managed eight games for the Blues. His 2022 was also cut down by injury after playing two games this year.

Carlton list manager Nick Austin thanked all three players for their contribution to the club.

“Jack is a testament to what hard work can earn you in AFL football: to play 200 games to this point at the highest level is a terrific achievement that Jack and his family should be incredibly proud of," Austin said.

“Oscar is also a terrific character who brought a lot to our group. While he was unlucky with his injuries, the resilience he showed to continue to persevere and maintain a positive presence around the Club was impressive.

“Luke had his share of bad luck through injury this year, however his perseverance to come through state level to earn two years in the AFL system proves his strong work ethic.

“We thank Jack, Oscar and Luke for their service to the Carlton Football Club and wish them all the best moving forward.”

The trio join Tom Williamson in having departed Ikon Park this season.
