Carlton wantaway defender Jack Silvagni has chosen his destination for 2026, with St Kilda having won the race for his signature.
Silvagni expressed to the Blues that he would exercise his free agency rights, with a host of clubs vying for his services.
The 27-year-old was courted by Collingwood, Essendon, and the Western Bulldogs initially, but the Moorabbin club, which came later, won out.
“We're very pleased that Jack has nominated St Kilda as the club where he wishes to continue his career," EGM Football David Misson said.
"As Jack is an unrestricted free agent, he will be entitled to accept our offer once formally submitted during the free agency window in October. We need to respect this process.
"With the official player movement period still several weeks away, we will not be commenting further at this time."
It is understood that, although the Saints came late, they offered more money and years.
Channel 9's Tom Morris revealed that Silvagni will sign a five-year deal, worth up to $850,000 per season.

The Saints have already successfully lured teammate Tom De Koning, and are in the market for GWS' Leek Aleer, Gold Coast's Sam Flanders, West Coast's Liam Ryan and Hawthorn's Cam Mackenzie.
It is believed that Ryan and Silvagni were set to undergo medicals at Moorabbin on Wednesday.
Silvagni will reunite with father, Stephen, who is the list manager at St Kilda.
He played 128 games for the Blues.
The 2025 AFL Free Agency Period runs from Friday, October 3 until Friday, October 10.
More to come.

Eight and counting if you include Nas. What a mammoth play Saints! And perhaps more to come. Nasiah (and perhaps cousin Tex via the draft?), Tom de Koning, Sam Flanders, Leek Aleer, Liam Ryan, Jack Silvagni, Cam McKenzie? ??? Cream on top are the sore Carlton losers from teams like Carlton and Adelaide.
