Carlton coach Michael Voss says there has been no discussion with club powerbrokers surrounding his future following the deplorable loss to North Melbourne last week.

The defeat saw the Blues slump to 10th on the ladder, sitting two games outside the eight ahead of a tough trip to South Australia to take on Port Adelaide.

But Voss, who has been questioned as the right man to lead the Victorian club, swiftly dismissed any suggestion that there's reason to panic, even if incoming CEO Graham Wright could be eyeing wholesale change.

"No ... it's an unnecessary conversation right now," Voss said.

"Other than being in complete communication with them and at all times โ€“ that has been really valuable.

"Having the leadership of those two guys, and even Rob (Priestley) as our president, they're outstanding leaders.

"And they're only interested in alignment and they're only interested in solving it together."

The Carlton coach also denied that the rest of the home and away season would determine whether he is at the club in 2026, which is when his contract expires.

"I don't deal in hypotheticals like that โ€ฆ as far as we are concerned, we have come off a game only four days ago," he said.

"You tend to focus a lot of your energy on turning around what was a disappointing loss into something else.

"We haven't drifted too far away from that."

The 1996 Brownlow Medallist was still adamant that Carlton's brand of footy does stack up in the AFL, despite an inconsistency that has riddled their season to date.

The Blues rely heavily on contested possessions and are the No.1 side in the competition. But where it breaks down is turning those first disposals to effective clearance, with the dramatic fall seeing Carlton rank 17th (72.8 per cent conversion), sitting only ahead of Richmond.

"I think it is a pretty impressive brand to watch. It is hard to talk down being the number one contested side in the competition," Voss said.

"It is something if you want to be good at and known for it, is in the effort indicators in this game.

"I don't think there would be a team in the land that wouldn't want to be in that spot, but you have to balance it out with other things in the game and what we acknowledge is that we are not that balanced profile yet."

Carlton fans will see two new faces run out on Thursday night against Port Adelaide, with the club confirming Billy Wilson and Flynn Young will make their AFL debuts.

Patrick Cripps missed Wednesday's captain's run with illness, while star defender Jacob Weitering is under an injury cloud with an ankle. Both are expected to play.
