Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley has signed a one-year contract extension, keeping him at the Magpies until the end of the 2017 season.

Pies' president Eddie McGuire made the announcement at the club's season launch on Tuesday night.

โ€œI genuinely believe we are building something really special in this young group and I think the string of recent player re-signings has illustrated that they share that belief,โ€ Buckley said.

โ€œTogether, we head into the 2016 season with the clubโ€™s backing and now itโ€™s up to us to repay the faith by producing what we know this side is capable of.โ€

Buckley has 51 wins from 88 games as senior coach.
