St Kilda coach Ross Lyon was reluctant to speak on the Saint's loss to Collingwood, choosing instead to focus on their upcoming game against Melbourne.
"We did a lot right to be honest. Territories, entries, defended pretty well overall....We've just got to work really hard to improve and that's what we've been doing." said Lyon before going on to say: "Today is Friday, that game [against Collingwood] was Sunday. We're totally Melbourne."
Lyon assured the media that St Kilda is prepared for the Melbourne game, saying that the Demons will throw a lot at them and that they will have to be "behind their mettle to be organised behind their attack."
He was also quick to reject suggestions that Melbourne's new coach, Steven King, will make preparation for the game difficult, saying AFL teams "don't muck around."
"We've had two games of footage...we're pretty clear how they're playing. There'll be some tweaks, there'll be some tactics that get thrown in but the broad ticket items are pretty clear to see," said Lyon.
Significantly, this weeks game against Melbourne will be the first time that St Kilda comes head to head with ex captain Jack Steele. While acknowledging that this will be "weird" Lyon claims this is just another part of them game.
"He's a much respected figure here, his history will always stand but ultimately he's an opposition player," said Lyon.
When asked about Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera's somewhat disappointing start to the season, Lyon reminds the media that, at half time, Nas was one of the highest rated players on the ground and claims he "dried up" in the second half.
"He's a young player...he'll learn his tricks," Lyon assures everyone.
When asked for further comments on how Nas' role in the game would change in the upcoming Melbourne game, Lyon shut down questions saying: "We just spoke about Nas. If we want to call a press conference on Nas we'll schedule one. It's about the team."
