Brisbane veteran Ryan Lester will continue his career into next year after announcing a new deal for 2026.

Lester has been a formidable force for 15 seasons and played a pivotal role in the club's premiership push last season.

Taken with Pick 28 in the 2010 National Draft, the 33-year-old has played 230 games, and will add to that this Saturday as the club prepares for a semi-final battle with cross-town rivals Gold Coast.

"It's great to be going around again next season and I am grateful to the club for giving me the opportunity," Lester said.

"I love being here at the club and really enjoy being part of the culture here. It's an exciting period for the whole club and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve both in the coming weeks and next season."

Lester has been on one-year contracts for the better part of the last decade, including when he was delisted with the view of being redrafted at the end of 2022.

Despite sitting out most of that year through a selection squeeze, the reliable defender forced his way into Chris Fagan's side and has rarely missed in the past three seasons.

"Ryan has worked incredibly hard his whole career to get the best out of himself and continues to do so even as a 33-year-old, which is why he thoroughly deserved this deal," Brisbane GM Football Danny Daly said.

"Ryan is a key player for us on the field and is always consistent, but he is as valuable off the field in what he does to set the standards and culture at our club.

"We're thrilled to have Ryan agree to play again in 2026 and look forward to having his wife Emi and their kids Georgie and Romeo part of the Lions family again."

He joins fellow veteran Dayne Zorko as a recent re-signing.
