Brisbane has confirmed that dual premiership heroes Brandon Starcevich and Callum Ah Chee will seek new homes, while out-of-contract midfielder Deven Robertson will do the same.

Starcevich (132 games) will join West Coast as a free agent, while Robertson (47 games) has informed the Lions of his intent to return to Western Australia in the hope of heading to the Eagles.

Ah Chee (124 games) has also officially requested a trade to Adelaide.

"Whilst it is disappointing to have premiership players and high-quality people leave the organisation, we understand this is the nature of the industry at times," list manager Dom Ambrogio said.

"In light of these requests, we will now work to pursue the best possible outcome for the Brisbane Lions.

Veteran forward Sam Day has also hung up the boots after 15 years in the AFL, albeit only 12 months at the Lions.

Day played 155 games for Gold Coast, and joined the cross-town rivals as a delisted free agent. He played 13 games for the 2025 premiers, but missed out on the ultimate glory.

"Sam is a person of outstanding character that we were fortunate to have at the Brisbane Lions," Ambrogio said.

"During his time with us, he has made an extremely selfless contribution to our Club both on and off the field and played an important role throughout the season, which ultimately resulted in a premiership for the club."

The Lions have also farewelled Darcy Craven and Brandon Ryan, informing the pair that they will not be offered contracts for 2026.

Craven joined the club through the 2024 Mid-Season Draft, but failed to play a senior game.

Ryan crossed from Hawthorn at the end of 2023 in a trade with Jack Gunston, and played one AFL match for the Lions.

"Both Brandon and Darcy showed potential and improvement during their time with the Brisbane Lions and produced some very good performances at VFL level," Ambrogio said

"We would like to thank all departing players for their tireless effort and valuable contribution to the Brisbane Lions and wish them and their families all the best for the future."
