After 205 games for North Melbourne, Lindsay Thomas has been released from his current deal with the Roos in order to pursue other AFL opportunities.

Thomas was contracted to North Melbourne for the 2018 season, although both parties have agreed to terminate his contract, to allow for Thomas to move to another club.

“On behalf of the club we would like to thank Lindsay for his professionalism over the past eleven seasons," North's General Manager of Football Cameron Joyce told nmfc.com.au.

"Linds has played some outstanding footy in his time and was widely regarded as one of the most potent, electric small forwards in the game.

“He is an intelligent and determined footballer that played with a tremendous amount of passion and desire.

"He played with his heart on his sleeve and overcame some huge challenges to carve out a fantastic career at North at the highest level."

It is widely tipped that Thomas will join Port Adelaide, who have reportedly been interested in Thomas for most of the off-season.
