Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury has been sent in for surgery on his finger, with the skipper breaking his middle finger on his left hand during the Pies' win over the Eagles on Friday night.

Pendlebury will miss the Pies' clash with GWS next weekend at the very least, with the club yet to confirm exactly how long he'll be sidelined for.

It is believed he'll be back well in time for the first weekend of the finals.

Pendlebury collected 32 disposals on Friday, and has played every game for the Pies this season.
