Hawthorn defender James Sicily could potentially miss the rest of the season, after suffering a broken scaphold in Saturday's clash with the Lions.
Hawthorn's GM-Football Graham Wright confirmed Sicily would miss at least six weeks with the injury, and if the Hawks fail to play finals football, the injury could mark the end of Sicily's 2018 campaign.
“It’s obviously really unfortunate for James and the club,” Wright told hawthornfc.com.au.
“James has been in great form of late, and he’ll be really difficult to replace.
“But, this presents an opportunity to the guys who have been in good touch at Box Hill.
“Someone will step up to fill the void, and we’ll continue on in our pursuit of finals footy.”
Sicily has played 14 matches this season, and averaged 23.9 disposals, 7.5 marks and 4.7 rebound 50s.
