New GWS recruit Brett Deledio will miss at least the first two rounds of the AFL season after coach Leon Cameron confirmed the news on Tuesday morning.
"We sent him around for a few days to clear his head. He'll miss rounds one and two. We're confident he can bounce back," Cameron said.
Deledio has been suffering from a calf injury throughout the pre-season, and it's an injury that has long affected the 29-year-old.
The former Tiger missed the opening five rounds of the 2016 AFL season, and could only play until round 17 before injury struck him down again.
He also missed parts of the 2015 season due to calf troubles, as he continues to battle with the ongoing injury.
