Essendon could be without star forward Jake Stringer for at least three months after sustaining an ankle injury in Friday night's win over Collingwood.

Stringer suffered the injury late into the Bombers' 15-point win over Collingwood, with coach John Worsfold addressing the news on Saturday.
“Obviously he brings a lot, he’s a very talented player. He’s got a different body shape, there’s no doubt about that,” Worsfold told Fox Footy’s Saturday Countdown.
“He’s got a role to play and he’s got the ability to play that for us and we will keep working with Jake. He obviously does a lot around the ball for us, we’ve been using him at centre bounces, where he has a big impact.
“It’s a syndesmosis injury. I’ve only had the basic outline of it, the club will probably release some information around that shortly. He’s going to be unavailable for a number of weeks.
“Generally they are at least a four week injury. We’ve seen players get back in that time if they have had surgery, but we don’t know what the outcome at the moment is. He’ll need to see surgeon to discuss whether that’s the option we will go down.
“They can be up to three month injury, we don’t know where his sits at the moment.”
The Bombers sit pretty in the top half of the ladder after a 3-1 start.
