Last week Bob Murphy told SEN that he believed the Gold Coast Suns could make the finals this season and he backed that up by including them in his top eight.

The former Western Bulldogs captain said he can see similarities between the Dogs of 2015 and this year’s Suns despite them not being able to play at their home ground until the second half of the season.

Murphy also believes his beloved Bulldogs can return to form and make it to the finals, but other top eight favourites, Port Adelaide and Essendon did not make the cut.

Bob Murphy’s 2018 top eight

  1. Sydney
  2. GWS
  3. Richmond
  4. Geelong
  5. Adelaide
  6. Melbourne
  7. Western Bulldogs
  8. Gold Coast

The two-time All Australian also listed the top five narratives he will be following this year which included the seasons of Melbourne, Richmond and the Gold Coast, Nathan Buckley's position as Collingwood coach, and Gary Ablett's return to the Cattery.
