The second half of Geelong and Box Hill's VFL clash at Simonds Stadium on Saturday afternoon was delayed by close to 25 minutes after an unusual incident.
As always, the umpire held the ball aloft after walking out from the half-time break and the siren sounded, but amazingly the noise was still echoing around the ground for the next 20 minutes.
Everyone at the ground was bemused by the incident, with players and umpires even heading back into the sheds after realising the siren was showing no signs of stopping.

Soon after the incident the Kardinia Park Stadium Trust Management released a statement, saying they were aware the siren experienced “technical difficulties” and were "investigating the cause of the issue”.
The match was delayed for approximately 25 minutes before the third quarter restarted, and the Hawks went on to win the match by 42 points.
