Bevo's Team of the Week : Round 16

Defenders Back Pocket: Tom Doedee (Adelaide) The Crows defender continues to blossom in his role as the replacement for Jake Lever this year. One of this year’s Rising Star favourites, Doedee was resolute in defence for the Crows against Richmond on Friday night with 27 disposals, eight marks and five tackles. Full Back: Scott Thompson (North Melbourne) Thompson played one of his best individual games for the Roos in their 37-point win over Gold Coast on Sunday. The key defender finished with 31 disposals and nine marks and was resolute all day in defence. Back Pocket: Darcy Gardiner (Brisbane) Gardiner was fantastic down back with the Lions with 27 disposals and 15 marks to play a big part in the Lions' 65-point win over the Blues. Half Back: Jason Johannisen (Western Bulldogs) Despite having a quieter second half against the Hawks, Johannisen finished with a team-high 32 disposals for the Dogs in their 63-point loss, and had 25 disposals in a fantastic first half and is back to his best since moving to half-back a couple of weeks ago. (Photo by Quinn Rooney/Getty Images)[/caption] Centre Half Back: James Sicily (Hawthorn) Sicily is a real chance to gain a spot in the All-Australian team this year and he showed why with 28 disposals and 12 marks in the Hawks' big win over the Dogs on Saturday night. Half Back: Steve Motlop (Port Adelaide) Celebrating his 150th AFL game, the former Cat played one of his best games for his new club finishing with 28 disposals, seven marks and six tackles to help the Power to 36-point win over the Saints on Saturday. Centre Wing: Luke Shuey (West Coast) Shuey was integral in helping the Eagles to an 11-point win over the Giants on Sunday. The gun midfielder finished with 32 disposals and 12 clearances. Centre: Dustin Martin (Richmond) Last year’s Brownlow Medallist was back to his brilliant best and was influential in helping the Tigers to a 47-point win over the Crows on Friday night. Martin finished with 30 disposals, 17 of those being contested, nine inside 50’s and kicked 2.2. Gaff racked up 41 disposals and kicked two goals and is a real chance to take home the first Brownlow Medal for West Coast since Matt Priddis in 2014. Followers Ruck: Brodie Grundy (Collingwood) Grundy has continued his great form this year with a superb performance for the Pies in their 16-point win on Sunday over arch rivals Essendon. Grundy had 24 disposals, eight clearances and 34 hit outs. Selwood had 28 disposals, nine tackles and eight inside 50's. Rover: Dayne Beams (Brisbane) Beams has been a different player since relinquishing the captaincy earlier this year and was one of the best on ground in the Lions' 65-point win over the Blues on Saturday. Beams finished with 40 disposals, nine marks, eight clearances and a goal. Forwards Half Forward: Devon Smith (Essendon) The former Giant was one of the best for Essendon and racked up 31 disposals, took eight marks and laid 13 tackles. Centre Half Forward: Jack Gunston (Hawthorn) The versatile Hawk was influential in helping the Hawks to a 63-point victory over the Dogs on Saturday. Gunston kicked four goals, had 21 disposals and ten marks to be one of the best players on the ground. Half Forward: Tim Kelly (Geelong) The first year mature age recruit played one of his best games for the Cats in their 12-point victory last Thursday night against the Swans. Kelly had 21 disposals, kicked two goals and laid five tackles. Forward Pocket: Steele Sidebottom (Collingwood) Sidebottom was terrific in his 200th game for the Pies on Sunday with 27 disposals at 85% efficiency, took six marks and kicked two goals. Full Forward: Eric Hipwood (Brisbane) The tall forward kicked a career high six goals to be one of the Lions' best in their 65-point victory over the Blues on Saturday. It was the most goals kicked by a Lions player since 2012 when former Lion, Daniel Merrett kicked seven goals against GWS. Forward Pocket: Luke Breust (Hawthorn) Breust had a day out for the Hawks and finished with 24 disposals, eight marks, seven tackles and six goals to be the best player on the ground in their domination of the Bulldogs. The classy Wingard finished with 32 disposals, five marks and nine inside 50’s and has been a different player since being moved into the midfield. Bench: Clayton Oliver (Melbourne) Oliver was superb in the Dees' big win over the Dockers on Saturday night. The young midfielder finishing with 35 disposals, seven tackles and inside 50’s and also kicked 2.1. Bench: Scott Pendlebury (Collingwood) The Magpies skipper was at this best in the Pies win over the Bombers on Sunday. The silky Pie finished with 34 disposals and laid nine tackles.
