The outcome of banned Eagle Willie Rioli's AFL Anti-Doping Tribunal on Wednesday will not be known until a later date.

Rioli, 25, has been provisionally suspended since September 12 last year and left in the dark over his AFL future.

The premiership forward appeared via video link from Darwin for his hearing in Melbourne, relating to two investigations.

The first is for tampering with a urine sample on August 20, 2019 and the second is for a positive cannabis test on September 5.

7 News Perth's Ryan Daniels wrote on Twitter that the verdict for Rioli's case was "unlikely to come any time soon."

"The Willie Rioli hearing is complete," Daniels wrote.

"By all reports it was a fair hearing and lasted a few hours. Rioli was able to have his say, a lot of written evidence was also submitted, which needs to be analysed. Verdict unlikely to come any time soon.

The Eagles released the following statement on the matter.

"The West Coast Eagles can confirm Willie Rioli today appeared via video link from Darwin at an AFL Anti-Doping Tribunal hearing in Melbourne.

"The hearing was completed but the outcome will not be known for some time, and until a conclusion has been reached neither the club nor Willie can make any comment.

"Under the AFL Anti-Doping Policy, all proceedings before the AFL Anti-Doping Tribunal are confidential and the outcome will be published by the AFL in due course."

A member of the club's 2018 premiership side, Rioli has played 38 AFL games for West Coast since making his debut in the same year.
