Delisted Richmond tall Jacob Blight has signed with WAFL club Subiaco Lions for 2026 following his surprise axing at the conclusion of the 2025 season.

Blight, who turns 24 years old in December, was taken as the second selection in the 2024 mid-season draft by the Tigers from WAFL club Peel Thunder, and has since featured in 10 games in the yellow sash at senior level.

Richmond made the surprising decision to delist Blight following the 2025 season, where the 196cm key defender averaged 6.0 marks per game, 1.6 being intercepts.

His kick at AFL level developed strongly in 2025 also, ranking third on the Tigers list for kicking efficiency (83.0%).

He joins Subiaco in a bid to bolster their defensive stocks following a disappointing 2025 campaign for the club, finishing the WAFL season with a record of four wins and 14 losses, and an average of 87.7 points conceded per game.

"We're incredibly excited to welcome Jacob Blight to the Subiaco Football Club," the Lions' club statement read.

"Beyond his size, athleticism and football ability, what stands out is his character, professionalism and drive to continually to improve, both as a player and a person.

"Jacob is a perfect cultural fit for our group and the environment we're building, and we know he will have a huge impact both on and off the field."
