Sydney University 9.21 75 def by. Brisbane 12.14 86

The Lions beat Sydney University as Jacob Allison and Ben Keays starred with 33 and 30 disposals respectively.

Former NBL forward with the Brisbane Bullets Tom Fullarton had nine disposals and kicked two goals on debut, Fullarton is a Category B rookie.

GWS Giants 8.20 68 def by. Gold Coast 10.10 70

Michael Barlow continued to run riot in the reserves, having 44 disposals in the Suns' win over GWS.

Irishman Pearce Hanley made his return after shoulder surgery and impressed having 31 disposals, while Brayden Fiorini had a best on ground performance in his return from injury with 36 disposals and two goals.

For GWS, returning from a calf injury, Brett Deledio had 32 disposals as he looks to return to AFL action.

Defenders Tim Mohr and Jeremy Finlayson also saw a lot of the ball having 25 and 27 disposals respectively.

The Swans recorded a big win in Darwin as academy product Jordan Foote pressed his case for selection with three goals in a best on ground performance.

Having been dropped following the loss to Geelong, Dean Towers responded with a big game in the midfield and will be pushing into the best 22.
