Alwyn and Jayden Davey, the sons of former Essendon forward Alwyn Davey Senior, have nominated the Bombers as their preferred club ahead of November's AFL National Draft, per reports from AFL Media.

Alwyn Junior is considered a potential top-20 draft pick after impressing this year for the Oakleigh Chargers and Vic Metro, exciting onlookers as a speedy small forward.

Jayden however, had an injury interrupted year after rupturing his ACL in March, now looking likely to be selected as a later-round pick.

Alwyn senior played 100 games for the Bombers across his career after making his debut in 2007, kicking 120 goals.

The twins were required to commit to the father-son process before Wednesday's deadline, with November 21 the date of the secondary bidding nomination.

The Davey twins join several other young guns in nominating as father-son selections, with Will Ashcroft and Jaspa Fletcher both set to head to Brisbane.

The 2022 AFL National Draft will begin on Monday, November 28.
