The AFLย Playersโ€™ Association has announced the sixย playersย that have been nominated for the Most Valuable Player of the Month award for the month of August.

Each month, every player will vote to decide which player takes home the award, with the winner to automatically be nominated for the AFLย Playersโ€™ MVP Award given to the best player at the end of the season.

In August, three players gathered their first nomination of the year, with Sydney's Lance Franklin, West Coast's Josh Kennedy and Adelaide's Matt Crouch all receiving the nod.

With his selection in the shortlist for the month of August, Richmond star Dustin Martin has achieved the incredible feat of being nominated for every month's MVP award.

As well as Martin, past winner Josh Kelly has also been nominated, while reigning Brownlow Medallist Patrick Dangerfield rounds out the nominees for August.

Past winners of the award are Rory Sloaneย (March/April), Josh Kelly (May) and Dustin Martin (June, July).
