Collingwood could make a play for Jeremy Cameron if Jordan De Goey exits the club.

The Herald Sun's Sam Landsberger and Jay Clark report De Goey's departure would free up $800,000 in Collingwood's salary cap to lure Cameron from the Giants.

Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley admitted De Goey is chasing the best deal available and reports suggest Carlton is tabling a monster offer to poach the match-winner from their fierce rivals.

The Magpies want to bolster their forward line and Cameron could add the spark they need for a premiership tilt in 2021.

The 27-year-old had a disappointing season by his own standards, kicking 24 goals in 17 games, a year after winning the Coleman medal with 76 goals.

If he decides to join the Magpies he will follow former teammates Adam Treloar, Taylor Adams and Will Hoskin-Elliot in the black and white.
