First to fourth-year players across the AFL are returning for pre-season training this week, while some veterans are making an appearance on the track ahead of the new year.

Gruelling time trials and high-performance sessions are set to test the younger ranks of each AFL club, with the toughest period of the off-season now underway.

Here we keep an eye on each club's return to training!

It's great to see Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti among the returning players at Tullamarine on Monday. The lively forward will be a great boost for the Bombers' new era under Brad Scott.

The Suns have already run their opening 2km time trial, with youngster Oskar Faulkhead edging out gun midfielder Noah Anderson for best time.

The Giants dropped their pre-season training return video in the early hours of this week, accompanied with a fitting tune.

A few new faces at Punt Road have also signed in for day one of pre-season and their new career as Tigers.

With Ross Lyon back at the helm, the Saints are set to be put through their paces in the coming weeks.

The Dogs return to the training track as they look to improve on their eight-place finish.

Carlton also hit the track on Monday, with some of their key-position players getting to work.
