The AFL and South Australia Police are said to be aware of an Adelaide player allegedly sending an unauthorised image to an ex-teammate.

The Crows have reprimanded the player, who is alleged to have sent an image of a woman to a former player, with the woman having since received support from the club, per a News Corp report.

The incident is said to have occurred in January.

The report states the player in question, who has not been named, is in his 20s and is currently listed with the Crows.

The club has confirmed it contacted the AFL's integrity arm and described the player's behaviour as "totally unacceptable".

The player is also set to undergo the required counselling and education.

"The Adelaide Football Club is aware of an incident involving one of its AFL-listed players who captured and circulated an unauthorised image,” Adelaide confirmed in a statement,  per the publication.

"Upon being made aware of the matter, the club completed a full investigation, notified the AFL's Integrity and Security Unit, and spoke with South Australia Police.

"The club deems the player's behaviour to be totally unacceptable and he has since undertaken counselling and education.

"The victim has been provided with the appropriate support and the club recognises the sensitivities of the matter."

The police are not pursuing the incident any further.
