West Coast premiership forward Liam Ryan is reportedly "gettable" for rival clubs despite being contracted until the end of 2026.

Amid a potential mass exodus from the Eagles, Ryan's name has popped up in trade negotiations, but AFL Media's Cal Twomey believes there are a select few who'd make the deal.

"This is an interesting one," Twomey said on Gettable.

"Keep an eye on this story over the next couple of months because premiership forward Liam Ryan is gettable this year.

"Rival clubs are aware that Ryan is open to looking at a change of club this season, with one year left on his deal at the Eagles.

"At 28, he's a player that will bring in decent draft capital for the Eagles if they were open to doing it this season.

"He's flirted with this in the past. Other clubs have flirted with interest in him in the past as well. I think there's a smaller market of clubs that he'd be open to going to."

It is expected that if Ryan were to depart the rebuilding Eagles, he'd head toward a premiership-contending team.

Cross-town rivals Fremantle recently brought in Shai Bolton, Murphy Reid and Isaiah Dudley, but are still in the market for Melbourne's Kysaiah Pickett.

Port Adelaide has invested heavily in high-end small forwards, and could look to bolster their mix with Ryan. He'd also reunite with former teammate Willie Rioli.

The next port of call would be what the West Australian is worth in draft capital.

Ryan was taken with Pick 26 in 2017, and has played 110 matches for 145 goals. He's an All-Australian and premiership player in the prime of his career.

However, injuries in recent years have limited his output, playing no more than 17 matches in a single season since 2021, including only three in 2023.
