A pair of players are likely to have earned the attention of the AFL's Match Review Officer for separate incidents from Thursday's game between Brisbane and Essendon at the Gabba.

A first-quarter tackle from Lions small forward Kai Lohmann on Bombers onballer Will Setterfield is likely to be looked at by the MRO, with the former penalised in the game by the umpire for his actions, with a rough conduct free kick paid against the Brisbane youngster.

Lohmann wrapped up Setterfield in a tackle soon after the Dons midifielder collected possession, with the umpire blowing his whistle for a ball-up. Soon after the whistle was blown, Lohmann decided to take Setterfield to ground.

The tackle saw Lohmann pull Setterfield to his right, with the Bombers player taken to the ground head first. Setterfield was able to continue in the game and took his free kick - an outcome that will aid Lohmann's potential MRO penalty.

A rough conduct (dangerous tackle) charge could be handed down by the MRO, with the gradings of careless conduct and high contact likely, with the impact grading expected to decide the extent of the penalty.

A low impact grading would result in a fine for Lohmann, while a medium impact grading or higher would result in a suspension. Given Setterfield was not injured in the tackle, a low or medium impact grading looks the most likely.

A one-game suspension would see Lohmann miss next week's trip to South Australia to face Adelaide, with a return to come in Round 14 against the Giants prior to Brisbane's mid-season bye.

Meanwhile, a fourth-quarter collision between Lion Noah Answerth and Essendon's Sam Durham could see the latter charged for rough conduct as well.

In the final minute of the game, Answerth leapt and tapped a high-bouncing ball before Durham arrived late to the contest and elected to bump the back of his opponent.

Answerth was floored as a result of the collision and was paid a free kick, with Durham penalised for a push in the back. Answerth was able to get to his feet and take his kick as the final siren neared.

The careless actions of Durham are likely to result in a fine, or a one-game suspension if the impact on Answerth warrants a high impact grading, with Answerth not suffering a high blow and being able to continue in the match unlikely to result in a suspension for the Bombers midfielder.

The MRO's findings from Thursday's action will be handed down on Friday.
