The AFL's Match Review Officer has handed down three charges from Friday's game between Essendon and Richmond, with Bombers midfielder Will Setterfield hit with two fines.

A third-quarter incident that has seen Setterfield charged with making careless contact with an umpire has resulted in a $1500 fine for the Dons onballer.

Setterfield has also been hit with a charge of engaging in a melee/wrestle in the fourth term with Rhyan Mansell, who has also been charged for his involvement.

The melee offence has led to a second $1500 fine for Setterfield, who can reduce both sanctions to $1000 each with early pleas.

Mansell's involvement has seen him hit with a $3125 fine for his second offence of engaging in a melee/wrestle. Mansell can reduce that penalty to $1875 with an early plea.

The Tiger's prior offence came in Round 8 against Hawthorn, which cost him $1000.

No other player was charged from the Round 11 game.
