Carlton midfielder George Hewett has been slapped with a hefty fine after tripping St Kilda defender Ryan Byrnes during the club's 15-point win.
Hewett was sanctioned, for the second time this year, for this offence, which yielded a bigger amount.
The Match Review Officer (MRO) deemed the contact reportable, also heightening the price the Blues veteran will need to hand over.
The MRO graded the incident as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact, resulting in a $6,250 fine ($3,750 guilty plea).
Saints ruckman Rowan Marshall was also fined for the same offence, tripping Carlton defender Nick Haynes in Friday's loss.
Marshall was fined $1,500 ($1,000 guilty plea), with the MRO not grading the incident.
The St Kilda tall was joined by young midfielder Hugh Boxshall, who received scrutiny from the MRO, after making careless contact with an umpire in the first quarter.
Boxshall is a repeat offender, turning his sanction to $3,125 ($1,875 guilty plea).
There were no incidents that caught the MRO's eye from Thursday's game between Fremantle and Collingwood.
