AFL goal kicking great Lance Franklin will return to the football field for the first time since his retirement at the end of 2023, pulling on the boots for his junior club, Dowerin Tigers.
Franklin etched himself into AFL history as one of the best forwards in the game, kicking 1066 goals during his time at Hawthorn and Sydney.
The smooth-moving left footer revealed the news on his podcast, The Buddy and Shane show.
"It's pretty exciting," Franklin said on his podcast with Shane Crawford.
"I'm going to be going back to my junior football club, back in WA, Western Australia.

"Dowerin Football club. I'm going to go back there and play a game. I'm really excited about this. I never thought I'd get the opportunity for my junior football club but it's popped up, this opportunity."
Franklin will return to his junior club in a bid to "give back" to the town of Dowerin, which is two hours north east of Perth.
He is teaming up with AIA, which will help power the fundraiser for the community lightning project.
"It's going to bring back a lot of memories," the star added.
"I started there when I was six years of age. This is for the town itself. Giving back. We're going to raise $300,000."
Franklin will line up for the Tigers against the Gingin Eagles in Round 1 on April 18.
