Adelaide and Brisbane are counting their lucky stars for the double chance after going down disappointingly in the opening week of the 2025 AFL Finals Series.

The Crows were defeated by a dominant Collingwood outfit on their home deck, while the Lions were no match for the tactically-inclined Geelong side.

The minor premiers will kick off the second week of September with a clash on Friday night at the Adelaide Oval against Hawthorn.

The winner of that contest will face Geelong in a preliminary final a week later, with the venue likely to be the MCG.

Brisbane will head back to the Gabba for the following evening's battle against state rival Gold Coast.

Collingwood await the winner of that contest at the MCG the following week in the preliminary final round.
