Victorian Zac McCarthy is a 199cm forward out of the Oakleigh Chargers.
The Collingwood-tied tall is among the standout key position players in this year's draft class, with his athleticism and aerial impact setting McCarthy apart.
His ties to the Magpies come as the Victorian powerhouse are in need of adding to their forward ranks, and will do so in the form of one of this year's best pure forwards.
McCarthy was limited at the Coates Talent League this year due to untimely injury, but he still managed to kick four goals from his three appearances.
He did, however, play in all four of Vic Metro's matches at the U18s National Championships, booting seven goals to sit second among tall forwards.
While an exciting prospect for Magpies fans, McCarthy will enter the AFL quite raw, and will require time to develop his craft at the elite level.
In the long term, McCarthy could prove to be a headache for opposing defences given his marking ability and follow-up work at ground level.
When a bid comes for McCarthy will be a watch on draft night, with some seeing the Collingwood NGA product in the conversation as a late first-round pick.
