The AFL has announced that a group of 11 umpires, coaches, players and administrators will all be inducted as Life Members in March of this year.

While the collective's awards have been given the seal of approval by the league's commission, each of the game's servants will need to wait until next month to be formally inducted at the AFL's latest Annual General Meeting.

Two-term Bulldogs president Peter Gordon, along with long-time Geelong list manager Stephen Wells were announced Life Members on Thursday morning for their services to the game in an administrative capacity.

Ex-Norwood player and SANFL director Phil Gallagher will also be ordained for his works within the City of Churches.

Current AFL and AFLW Umpires Jacob Mollison and Robert Findlay were announced as recipients after combining to officiate 18 finals and one grand final across their shared tenures.

Contemporary coaches Stuart Dew and Luke Beveridge are set to be ordained for their services both in boots and in the box, while champions of the game Grant Birchall, Patrick Dangerfield, Shane Edwards and former Sydney skipper Josh Kennedy will receive a plaque.

Between these household names, there lies 13 All Australian blazers, eight premierships, seven club best and fairests and the 2016 Brownlow Medal.

A date for the league's AGM next month is yet to be announced.
