Unhappy fans have revealed a host of issues with the freshly released AFL 23 video game, taking to social media to complain about glitches and errors throughout the game.
The game, which had its release delayed, was highly anticipated but required developers Big Ant Studios to release an update on the same day to address gameplay and stability issues.
The AFL conceded through social media on Friday that there had been issues in the launch, tweeting that the two parties were working through the problems to ensure the "best experience" for consumers.
"The AFL and Big Ant Studios are aware of issues on launch of #AFL23 on Thursday," the tweet read.
"Patches in the first 24 hours have addressed gameplay and stability issues, while other missing features will be re-introduced over the coming days to ensure the best experience.
"We thank you for your support and patience as these issues are worked through."

Plenty of users encountered the issues on launch day and took to social media to voice their complaints, with one user stating that the game was "nowhere near ready" for release.
"AFL 23 should've been AFL 24. This game was nowhere near ready for the public. There's months and months worth of patching to fix this. I don't care what the reasoning is and I know it's a smaller Aus dev company but releasing a game in this state is disgusting," the tweet read.
