Adelaide have opted not to sign former Swan Zac Foot as the SSP deadline reaches its final hours.

Foot impressed the powers at West Lakes over the summer months in a bid to return to the AFL after a two-year stint in Sydney.

The 25-year-old featured in the club's SANFL side over the weekend, highlighting his explosiveness and dynamic impact through the midfield.

However, his pre-season with the Crows wasn't enough to secure a contract for 2026.

Foot first entered the AFL after he was drafted by the Swans with Pick 51 in 2018. He played two games before he was delisted.

Since, he spent time at VFL outfits Casey Demons (2021) and Southport Sharks (2022-2025), quickly becoming one of the premier on-ballers in the state-league competition.

Foot was named in the VFL 2025 Team of the Year across the half forward and was named the Sharks' best and fairest (Doc Mackenzie Medal). He also won the club's most dedicated.

Foot came fourth in the VFL Coaches MVP, falling behind teammate Jacob Dawson, Henry Hustwaite and Jack Bytel.

The Crows will likely hold onto its vacant list spot, despite getting a glimpse of AFL hopeful Tom Bell.

The South Fremantle (WAFL) defender was training with Adelaide but was not eligible for the SSP given he didn't nominate for last year's draft.

Bell will be watched closely given the Crows will be without key defender Mark Keane for at least two more months after he fractured his leg in February.
