Brisbane coach Chris Fagan is aggrieved by the latest attack on opposition coach Michael Voss, but is not surprised in the least.

News came to light that Voss received a threatening message during Friday's loss to Collingwood through the MCG's anti-social hotline service, and has since responded.

Fagan, who will be facing Voss' Blues on Thursday night at Marvel, was asked about the reality of coaches in the AFL, and the "armchair warriors" they have to deal with.

"Yep, we've all been through that," Fagan sympathised.

"It's tough. I saw there was some death threat. That's pretty average. I've got no doubt he'll be doing the best job that he can.

"But that's just the world AFL coaches live in. It's tough.

"There's lots of armchair warriors out there that think they can say anything, anywhere, anytime. That's the disappointing part about it.

"Faceless people, lack of courage. Us coaches, we try to brush those things off, to be honest."

The AFL Integrity Unit was alerted to the threatening message, and is now investigating the "vile language" directed at the struggling coach.

The Lions are set to jump on a plane ahead of the Round 18 contest, and will look to continue their impressive away record.

Brisbane has played eight times outside the state of Queensland, claiming six wins, a loss and a draw to North Melbourne.

Fagan's charged play twice under the roof at Marvel Stadium, with the win over St Kilda earlier in the year contributing to the stirring record in front of hostile crowds.

Ruckman Oscar McInerney is a chance to return to the senior side, having played several VFL matches in the last month and being rested last week.

McInerney hasn't been seen since the Round 9 draw to the Kangaroos in Hobart, flagging persistent back issues that the club dealt with cautiously.

Keidean Coleman has been declared available for selection following multiple weeks on the sidelines with a quad injury. Coleman returned from an ACL injury in Round 10 against Melbourne but suffered a setback that has kept him in the stands.

The Lions sit second on the ladder, with a host of clubs nipping at their heels.
