Essendon and St Kilda have both announced late changes to their extended squad ahead of their respective Round 17 clashes.

The Saints have welcomed back veteran defender Jimmy Webster to the fold after Liam Stocker was ruled out with a knee injury.

Webster will take his place in the starting 23 in Saturday night's match-up against Hawthorn at Marvel Stadium.

Jack Carroll has been made an emergency for the contest.

Webster had played all but one match in 2025 and was set to miss this week after missing the trip west against Fremantle, but will regain his place to tackle the Hawks' small forward group.

Stocker's 50th game milestone will be pushed back another week.

As for the Bombers, they have replaced Dylan Shiel with young midfielder Elijah Tsatas as an emergency for Saturday's match-up with Gold Coast at Marvel Stadium.

Brad Scott's men will return from their mid-season bye to take on the in-form Suns in the hope of putting an end to a four-game losing streak.

Tsatas has rarely been seen at the senior level in 2025, playing only four matches, including one as a substitute, spending most of his time in the VFL.
