Gold Coast have named Mid-Season Draft recruit Oscar Adams for Saturday's clash with Essendon at Marvel Stadium, with the ex-Saint to make his debut as a late change inclusion just over a month since joining the Suns.

Adams was taken with Pick 7 in the May intake, joining Gold Coast after a strong 18 months with SANFL side Glenelg, who he joined after being cut by St Kilda at the end of the 2023 season.

The 21-year-old has played three VFL games for Gold Coast's reserves since making the move to Queensland, averaging 11.7 disposals, 4.0 marks and 1.7 tackles each outing.

โ€œOscar has impressed in such a short time at the club and it's fantastic for him to have earned the chance to make his AFL debut,โ€ Suns football performance boss Wayne Campbell said of Adams.

Adams becomes the Suns' second debutant of 2025, following Pick 9 selection Leo Lombard's maiden match earlier this year.

Adams is one of two inclusions for Damien Hardwick's Round 17 side, with Ned Moyle also coming into the team to face the Bombers.

Gold Coast have confirmed they have been forced to make a late change to the squad that was selected on Thursday night, with vice-captain Sam Collins to miss the match due to a calf injury.

โ€œSam experienced some calf tightness at training on Thursday and a decision was made to withdraw him from this weekend's team," Campbell said.
