Collingwood coach Craig McRae has alluded to draftee Charlie West getting his debut opportunity after another stellar performance in the VFL
West kicked six goals in the VFL on Saturday, including a match-winning goal after the siren to secure the victory for the Pies.
The Pick 50 from last year's draft has had a superb start to his career in the black and white, kicking 24 majors from his 10 games.
His performance yesterday broke a string of goalless matches, but has all but forced him into McRae's side.
"Did you see him kick after the siren?" McRae said with a smile.
"He kicked six goals in the VFL. I must admit, his magnet was really close this week. I didn't tell him, but it was really close.
"Now it's going to be really hard to keep him out.
"I'm rapt for him. We'll celebrate that first thing Monday morning.
"It looks like he'll be hard to leave out next week."
Veteran midfielder Tom Mitchell continued his impressive form in the reserves as he makes a bid to return from a long injury layoff.
Mitchell collected 27 touches, 13 tackles and four clearances.
Mason Cox was instrumental in the three-point victory over Sandringham Zebras, recording 34 hit-outs, three clearances, 12 disposals and a goal.
Wil Parker and Jakob Ryan found plenty of the ball.
Collingwood will take on an undermanned and inexperienced West Coast at Marvel Stadium next week.
