Brisbane coach Chris Fagan has clearly outlined the club's downfall over the past fortnight, emphasising goal inaccuracy as the key factor in determining results.
The Lions went down to GWS and Adelaide by under two goals, despite registering 54 scores in comparison to 40.
The 9-4 Queensland club will rue the opportunities missed, with WheeloRatings tipping Brisbane to have won both contests comfortably.
Heading into the primetime clash against Geelong at GMHBA Stadium, Fagan alluded to goal kicking as the sole issue in the reigning premiers' performances.
"I think it's really clear (what our problem is)," Fagan said at GHMBA Stadium.
"We've had 20 more scoring shots than our opposition the last two weeks, and we haven't been able to salute.
"Accuracy in front of goals is our issue at the moment.
"That's the one glaring thing at the moment, that's hurt us the last couple of weeks."
Friday's contest at Kardinia Park presents another potential hoodoo that the Lions will hope to reverse.
Not since 4 May 2003, Round 6, has Brisbane won in Geelong, losing 13 encounters in a row.
Fagan, who has slowly been ticking off the club's curses since he arrived in 2017, has all but turned the narrative on many fronts, with another set outlined for tomorrow.
"We've done that since the day I arrived at the football club," Fagan said.
"We couldn't beat anyone. We looked at various teams we hadn't beaten in a while and set ourselves to do that.
"We have a bit of fun with that sort of stuff. Good sportsmen strive to break through barriers and do things that haven't been done before. I think AFL clubs are no different.
"It's all a part of goal setting and striving, and we've ticked off many things over the last few years."
The Lions will be without key defender Jack Payne for the remainder of the season after he ruptured his patellar tendon in the loss to GWS.
Veteran utility Darcy Gardiner will take his place in Brisbane's backline, which will tackle the in-form Jeremy Cameron and Shannon Neale.
