Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley remains hopeful Jason Horne-Francis and Aliir Aliir will be available for Saturday's affair against Sydney.

While Horne-Francis has been named as available following a shoulder stinger over the weekend, he will need to get through training unscathed to be named.

Aliir (knee) is listed as a test, alongside Lachie Jones (hamstring), with Hinkley noting the club won't risk naming any players dealing with ailments.

"We'll get through training and see how they go," Hinkley said. "We won't take unnecessary risks with anyone.

"We're optimistic around them, but will wait and see.

"(Horne-Francis) needs his arms and shoulders to be working pretty well. So we're hopeful he'll play this week.

"You miss any player, but you miss particularly top end players in your team, they make a massive difference."

Port Adelaide will be forced into at least one change for Round 15, with Brownlow Medal winner sidelined with a knee injury.

The Power are "hopeful" he'll only miss the short term, and is in the mix for next week, but still doubtful.

Mid-Season Draft addition Mani Liddy could be in line for more midfield minutes in Wines' absence after impressing his coach in the win over Melbourne, which was Liddy's first appearance at the level.

Hinkley could reward first-year midfielder Christian Moraes with a reprieve, with the teenager having a strong return to the SANFL after being dropped.

"We like the way he plays. He's a young player in his first year and does lots of impressive stuff," Hinkley said.

"He went back and played really well in the SANFL, so it gives him a good opportunity to be in our thoughts for this week."

A win for the Power would see them close in on the top eight, bringing them to seven wins and as many losses after a slow start to the year.

Port Adelaide will host the Swans at Adelaide Oval on Saturday at 4:15pm (AEST).
