A total of 63 players have gained dual-position status for the remainder of the SuperCoach and AFL Fantasy seasons following the opening seven rounds of the 2024 campaign.

Both AFL SuperCoach and AFL Fantasy have made player positions flexible, with any player who has single position status able to add a second should they play at least 35% of their game time in that role.

Those changes will be made after every six rounds of the season following Round 6, with all 18 sides now playing half-a-dozen games each.

The dual-position changes have seen a handful of popular fantasy players earning new positions, with Fremantle's Hayden Young, North Melbourne's Charlie Comben, Gold Coast's Sam Clohesy and Essendon's Nic Martin all gaining new positions, additionally to their prior ones.

20 players have gained status as a defender, with 23 now selectable as midfielders, and a further 20 as forwards.

No player has gained ruck status from the opening seven rounds, while Essendon's Sam Draper and Gold Coast's Ethan Read are now eligible as ruck-forward hybrids.
