GWS WIN! The Giants move on to a semi-final against either Brisbane or Port Adelaide, while St Kilda's impressive opening season under Ross Lyon comes to an end.

17:59 - Sharman is forced to deal with three GWS defenders on the goal line as Sinclair launches from 45m out, with the Giants punching the ball over for a behind.

14:20 - A classic Max King contested clunk 30m from goal with no angle. He casually slots another but there's little life left in this one.

13:12 - The Giants move the ball from one side of the field to the other before Idun passes it over to Brown, who snaps from 40m out on a bit of an angle. He shanks his kick and it goes OOTF.

SUB MADE: Nick Haynes has replaced Isaac Cumming for GWS.

10:21 - Zaine Cordy takes his eyes off a sailing ball and concedes a free kick to Jake Riccardi. Riccardi goes back from 25m out on a 45-degree angle bit again misses to the right.

5:39 - Sharman marks the ball on the wing and this time the Saints are rewarded with a 50m penalty after a mistake by the Giants. Sharman moves into shooting range but his shot falls short to the right and eventually is kicked over the line by GWS for a rushed behind.

4:41: Callaghan marks the ball 60m from goal before a Saints defender moves from their mark and concedes a 50m penalty. The young Giant walks into an easy-range set-shot and makes no mistake.

4:15 - Whitfield keeps the ball in at half-forward and then finds Lloyd near the boundary closer to goal. The Giants forward checks one to Riccardi just outside the goalsquare. He can't capitalise on an easy chance though, kicking it to the right, Hopefully doesn't cost them.

3:20 - The following centre clearance sees Tom Green get out the front and kick deep into attack, where Jake Riccardi pops up to take a nice grab. He kicks his third for the day and puts the lead back out to 24 points.

2:40 - Some overlap from Josh Battle in the centre square gives the Saints some penetration, with a kick launched to the hotspot. Jack Higgins of all forwards gets clean hands to it. Kicks truly with ease to give the Saints the first of the fourth.

1:40 - Dan Butler has a great chance to kick off the fourth term after the Saints got over the top and hit up the small forward on the lead 25m out. His snap attempt is ugly off the boot and manages to register a behind.

Three-Quarter Time

Some late fight back from the Saints that cut a lengthy lead before the last break, but there's a mountain of work ahead of them to keep their season alive. The Giants are needing to ice this one early into the fourth.

19:56 - NWM!!! Wanganeen-Milera gets the ball and snaps one through the middle from 25m out right before the siren sounded. Just what Ross Lyon would've wanted to see before the last break.

19:03 - The Saints win the ball back in the middle, with Sharman marking it atop the 50m arc before passing it off to Brad Hill to gain a further 15m, however he's placed on a tough angle. Hill goes back and slots it right through the middle for a much-needed major.

17:15 - The Saints finally get one back, with a long kick forward falling to Sharman off hands, with the Saints forward turning and passing to Owens who can kick an easy goal from just outside the goalsquare.

16:17 - Two in as many minutes, with Bedford the last on the chain this time. The small forward gathered the ball out the back and bent it through the middle from 20m out.

15:22 - The Giants break away from the middle and Toby Bedford puts on the burners in the centre of the MCG. His long kick hits up Jake Riccardi 25m out from goal, who goes back and slots another. Giants by 37.

13:13 - A scuffle broke out after Lachie Whitfield was floored shortly after taking a mark inside the centre square by Josh Battle. Whitfield quickly gets up to take his kick as a melee commences and catches the Saints off-guard, with Briggs on the end of his pass inside 50. Briggs can't make the most of his chance, kicking it to the right for a behind.

Note: Mason Wood has come from the field and is expected to undergo a concussion test after copping an accidental hand to the face from Toby Greene.

10:18 - Brown makes no mistake of his second chance in a minute, taking a mark on the lead before going back to boot home the Giants' 11th for the afternoon. Giants now lead by 29.

9:27 - The Giants get the ball forward once again, with Hogan unable to take a mark 40m out before it sills to Brown, who launches one toward goal only for a return of a behind.

8:43 - Toby Greene gets the Giants' first chance on goal for the half but can't kick accurately, with his set shot from 40m out on a tough angle going across the face for a behind.

4:46 - Windhager dances through the contest 50m out, shrugs off an opponent and hands the ball over to Crouch, who runs toward goal from directly in front close to 40m out but misses.

1:27 - Hill throws the ball on his boot toward goal from a clearance but it drifts to the left for a behind. Some promise in this start to the half for the Saints.

A couple of late goals from Max King and a major from Brad Hill with just five seconds left on the clock reduced the deficit, with the Saints snapping the Giants' run of eight straight goals midway through the term. Momentum with the home side, but it remains to be seen if that flow continues into the second half.

19:54 - A last-minute goal from the Saints, who took advantage of a Dan Butler free-kick for holding, with Hill getting on the end of a nervous run of play and snapping one from the goal-square while shaking off his opponent. Goal confirmed after a review.

18:19 - Kelly gets front and centre as Keeffe grabs the ball at ground level, with the classy left-footer snapping a great goal as he ran toward the boundary. Hard to beat that major for goal of the day.

17:09 - The Saints have the ball in the centre square and deliver it long, only for the whistle to blow and a free kick to be paid to King for a hold against Taylor. King makes it two in a minute and the lead shrinks further.

16:51 - A lofted, smart kick inboard from Jade Gresham leads to a good grab from King, who makes no mistake of his latest chance and cuts the Giants' lead to 29 points.

14:52 - Some late fight back from the Saints as they link up well following the centre bounce, with Butler delivering a nice pass into the pocket to Max King. The Saints forward can't capitalise on the opportunity however, snapping the ball to the near side.

13:57 - Sharman gets his second after the Saints put forward an accurate forward 50 entry, with the young Saint taking two chances at the grab 30m out from goal, little angle.

12:28 -  Daniels gets creative in the pocket, banana-ing the footy to Josh Kelly, who goes back and slots one from near-point-blank range.

NOTE: GWS have booted seven goals in a row, with St Kilda's last major coming through Rowan Marshall after 5 minutes and 11 seconds of play in the opening term

10:28 - Another for the Giants, with Greene adding another assist to his stat sheet. This time he finds the ball 50m out on the boundary and dances around before drilling a pass low into attack, which Lloyd swoops on and snaps truly from 35m out.

8:51 - Wilkie drops a mark atop the Giants' 50m arc and Greene jumps on the scraps before feeding it to Riccardi by hand. The GWS spearhead throws it on his right foot with a check-side kick and it sails through the middle.

7:50 - A ball-up in the Giants' picket is tapped down to Greene, who throws it on the boot and it bounces on the wrong side of the goalpost for a behind.

7:05 - The Giants' midfield breaks away from half-back, with Callaghan offering some dash through the middle of the ground before delivering a long kick toward goal. Hogan out-bodies his opponent and clunks the mark before going back and slotting home another for the Giants from 20m out directly in front.

5:55 - An off-the-ball push by Himmelerb on Butler gifts the Saints forward a shot on goal from 35m out near the boundary. He curls around from the left side but his kick is well short and punched over for a behind. GWS by 17.

5:15 - Callan Ward looks to break past Seb Ross in defence, but the Saints veteran does superbly well to ping Ward HTB. Ross goes back for a set-shot but his shot crashes into the right goalpost from 40m out.

3:41 - A hurried kick out of defence from the Saints lands with Lachie Ash at the top of the arc. He goes back and takes his 30 seconds before finding Bedford 40m out on a 45-degree angle. His shots starts and stays left, and after an ARC review a behind is confirmed.

1:31 - Sinclair bottles an easy grab near the wing and the Giants pounce, with Daniels and Green combining. Daniels gets on the end of the chain but can't capitalise from 40m out, skewing his kick across the face and out on the full.

Quarter Time

GWS picked up the momentum through the second half of that term after the Saints were on top early. Plenty of run and strong defending from the Giants, while Rowan Marshall is leading the charge for St Kilda.

19:20 - A shanked snap on goal from Hunter Clark drifts toward the left forward pocket for the Saints, with Sharman parked under the pill for the mark. He plays on and only manages a behind to the near side.

18:43 - This time it's Daniels feeding Kelly, who launces from outside 50 but his shot starts and stays left for a behind.

18:16 - The Giants force a turnover on the wing and quickly move it forward, with Kelly delivering a chip pass to Daniels, who goes back from 45m out on a tough angle and slots it home. Four in a row for GWS, they lead by 18.

15:43 - Greene sends the ball deep into attack, with Keeffe and Brown partnering up in the goalsquare before the latter gets a toe on the ball with an acrobatic effort. Umpires need a review with a faint touch from Brown's boot showing and no Saint in the way. Another goal for the Giants.

13:10 - Bedford gets another chance after taking a mark 40m from goal on a slight angle. Goes back and extends the Giants' lead to seven points.

12:25 - Bodies crash in the Giants' attacking 50, with Bedford swooping on the loose ball and throws it on his foot. It bounces toward goal but goes over for a behind on the close side.

10:23 - The ball is knocked into Brad Crouch's foot right on the boundary line and it lands over for an on-the-full free-kick against. Riccardi takes the kick and snaps from the roughly 25m out, it drifts wide and lands in the lap of Jesse Hogan in the opposite pocket. Hogan makes no mistake from close range as he wheels around on his right foot and sends it through the middle of the big sticks.

5:11 - Rowan Marshall wins a free kick for holding 15m directly in front after a long ball was launched deep into the Saints' attack. He drills it right through the middle.

4:13 - Riccardi earns a free kick 40m from the line, but Daniel Lloyd takes advantage and runs toward goal. His attempt from a sharp angle goes through the near side for a behind. A missed chance.

3:01 - A goalline wrestle between Max King and Sam Taylor in the Saints attack breaks out for a loose ball following a kick from Anthony Caminiti, with the Sherrin trickling toward the line. It taps into the goalpost for a behind.

1:23 - An immediate reply for GWS, with Toby Greene getting out the back and dribbling one home from close range.

0:55 - Cooper Sharman takes a huge grab 15m out from goal and goes back and slots the set-shot with comfort. Saints on top immediately
