Third-generation Blue Jack Silvagni has signed a two-year contract extension, recommitting his future to Carlton until the end of the 2025 season.

After making his senior debut during Round 15 of the 2016 season, Silvagni became the third member of his family to wear the Blues' famous monogrammed guernsey, following in the illustrious footsteps of his premiership-winning father, Stephen, and grandfather, the late-great Sergio Silvagni.

In the years to come, Jack would run out for the Bluebaggers on a further 114 occasions, providing adept behind the ball as well as in front of it.

And in recent times, Silvagni has also aided Carlton's fortunes by pinch-hitting manfully in the ruck.

Upon Silvgani signing his extension, Blues list boss Nick Austin wished to pay praise to the versatile clubman, stating that Jack's brains and brawn were both held in esteem at Princes Park.

“It is great Jack has recommitted to the Club until 2025. Jack consistently puts his body on the line for the Club and has that competitive edge which we love,” Austin told Blues Media.

“Along with his football smarts, his versatility to play on all areas of the ground is a real asset for us and we look forward to evolving his role further in the coming years.

“Once out on the field he always gives 100 per cent, and we are glad today's announcement recognises the hard work he continues to put in both on and off the field.”

Silvagni remains sidelined with a knee sprain and remains an outside chance of returning for the Blues' do-or-die preliminary final date against Brisbane at the Gabba on Saturday night.
