Essendon are set to finally welcome back All-Australian midfielder Darcy Parish to the lineup ahead of their Saturday afternoon clash with St Kilda.
Parish was a late withdrawal from Essendon's 30-point loss to Sydney, having not fully recovered from his hamstring injury earlier this month.
He will need to get through Essendon's main session on Thursday but should be fit for selection after another week of recovery.
The Bombers will assess the performance of Will Setterfield and Harry Jones in training ahead of the weekend, the former recovering from a minor knee injury suffered against Sydney while the latter fights to replace suspended key forward Peter Wright.
"We've got some key forwards who are available, Harry Jones was held over as an emergency so he's right in the frame," coach Brad Scott told reporters on Wednesday.
"(Setterfield's) a chance," he added.
"He just landed on that SCG cricket wicket and has got a bit of swelling on his knee.
"Provided that settles and the swelling subsides, he's a chance to be okay.
"He'll either be 100% or we won't play him."
Dylan Shiel remains unavailable for senior selection after he couldn't get up for Essendon's VFL clash with a stomach muscle concern.
"'Shiely' was a late withdrawal from the VFL game with a minor oblique injury," Scott said.
"We're hoping he'll play VFL this week but no he won't be available for senior selection but everyone else will be"
The Bombers will also welcome key back Jake Kelly after missing last week with illness. Andy McGrath should also be fit for selection, though no update was specified regarding his injury.
