St Kilda captain Jack Steele can accept a $2000 fine after being charged with Engaging in Rough Conduct following an incident involving Bulldogs defender Alex Keath on Friday night.
The Match Review Officer handed down the sole charge from the Saints' 28-point loss at Marvel Stadium, with Steele offered a sanction for his actions on Keath during the opening quarter of the match.
The MRO assessed the incident in question as Intentional Conduct, Low Impact and Body Contact, resulting in a fine of $3000 as a first offence.
With an early plea, Steele can reduce the fine to $2000 or opt to challenge the charge.
No other incidents from Friday night's match were noted by the MRO.
Having avoided suspension, Steele will be available to travel to Perth next Sunday to face West Coast for St Kilda's Round 19 encounter.
The Saints will be hoping to return to winning ways after losing their eighth game of the season, now placed 10th on the ladder after the Bulldogs leapt them into the top half.
