Collingwood's American forward/ruck, Mason Cox, is currently weighing up his future as he receives interest from rival clubs.

Cox has been offered a new two-year deal by the Magpies, however, he is yet to accept the offer.

He is set to weigh up his options in the coming weeks as the season draws to a close, with Hawthorn and Richmond both interested in the 211cm man mountain, according to The Herald Sun.

Cox has managed just eight games at the Pies this season, kicking eight goals and averaging 7.5 disposals and 16.6 hitouts per match.

He is currently behind Brodie Grundy, who is understood to be close to signing a three-year contract extension, in the ruck pecking order, while he has also struggled up forward.

The 26-year-old has had more success in the ruck than up forward at senior level this season however and he showed encouraging signs against Geelong on the weekend, where he had 43 hitouts, eight tackles, nine possessions, six marks and kicked two goals.

Richmond is in need of a key forward partner for Jack Riewoldt and has made overtures for several talls already this season.

The Tigers were heavily into youngster Josh Schache earlier this season before he signed a two-year contract extension with the Lions and were also recently linked to Carlton's Levi Casboult.

Hawthorn's big man stocks are also limited, with Jack Fitzpatrick just this evening confirming his retirement due to concussion, while Jon Ceglar is currently out with a knee injury and Ty Vickery has failed to impress since joining the club from Richmond at the end of last season.
