Hawthorn ruckman Marc Pittonet looks set to join the Blues next season, and will serve as Matthew Kreuzer's back up, according to The Age.

Following on from Jon Ceglar's three-year extension at Hawthorn, Pittonet knocked back an offer from the Hawks, in search of better opportunity.

The 23-year-old should join the Blues as a replacement for Andrew Phillips, who is linked with a move to Essendon.

Phillips was also offered a deal by the Blues, but like Pittonet, would like a longer deal with more opportunity.

The ruckman has played seven games across five seasons with the Hawks.
